sCREENWRITING

Lisa Rysinger specializes in high concept, commercially viable stories with universal themes. Her many years as a nonlinear editor helped shape her feature film writing style, which is fast paced and highly visual. An avid world traveler and a perpetual student of life, Lisa’s brand can be described as a fresh, commercial voice that transcends cultures and resonates globally.

Her protagonists demonstrate perseverance in the face of daunting challenges, as she herself has had to do– dealing with adversity and life and death issues from a young age. She values her tenacity and optimism as her greatest strengths, and uses them to pursue her passions and to advocate for others.

Her female-driven thriller, Dead Water, placed in numerous notable screenwriting contests, including the prestigious Academy Nicholl Fellowship run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization that hosts The Oscars.

Dead Water was also featured on Coverfly’s Red List for Thrillers and is currently ranked in the top 5 % of all Coverfly’s 87,000+ discoverable film and TV projects. Lisa was granted an interview with the FBI to research the script, which was inspired by actual events.
